Torch
It's better to burn out, than fade away!
Heat, fire, flames, decimation, destruction...woo-hoo!
What could be more fun than setting stuff on fire for art's sake? I guess my pyromaniac side is showing here a bit...sorry. I use a torch in almost everything I do. You can alter the colors of metal. distress and antique fabrics & woods, make a doll or other character look like they've been through the fire (literally) or just reduce an object or material to it's lowest common denominator because you can. Propane is very hot and quite safe, Mapp gas burns much hotter and will even melt glass! I also use my torch to make painted surfaces (wet and dry) more colorful, old-looking, and unevenly textured. Enamel paints are extremely flammable so go outside before you "flame on!" And don't overdo it, subtle effects are cooler than making the whole thing black, but that's cool too.
Just be careful, please, fire is hot!
